Let There Be Light. And Sound.

Performing the pageant-play of the Nativity outside at night is no easy task. Light and sound equipment, power tools and costumes all must taken outdoors for every rehearsal. Fire ants, bad weather, and perpetual shortage of extension chords are always trying to trip us up.

But when the production finally comes together, with music and firelight and animals, it transforms from it's individual pieces into the greatest story ever told.

Dave Robertson is our lighting expert this year. He stands here holding a new LED spotlight capable of producing every color of the rainbow. It will draw less power, too.

(If you have shoplights, outdoor spotlights, power strips, extension chords, or dimmer switches, please lend them to for a month. Bring them to the church with your name on it, and we'll return it after Dec 11. Contact Dave: 561-847-1879.)

Mike Cotton (standing), a concert pianist with his own recording equipment, is our head sound guy. And Merlin, a member of the Church, and an audio technician who recently moved to Jupiter to work for the Maltz theatre, helped us sort out our equipment. Justin Elkins, our sound guy the last 2 years helped out too. This year's play will feature the same great professional music, and a few new effects to bring the birth of the Savior to life.

Rehearsals for our pageant-play begin this week! Be a part of this community Christmas gift. You can help backstage, take a non-speaking role, bring your kids to participate, or help make props on Wednesday nights. "Build Saturday" is our traditional day for installing the set (stable, Joseph's home, the concert stage, etc.) out in the fields. It's Nov 13th, from 10-2pm.
